Installing Starfinder Alien Archive on v6.07.08

Postby bigboom » Wed Apr 11, 2018 11:39 am

Hello!

I found Starfinder Alien Archive data listed here: https://github.com/PCGen/pcgen-newsourc ... en_archive

I've been trying to figure out how to install this into PCGen. I currently have v6.07.08 installed.

After looking at some help files and a youtube video, I figure that I needed to install these files as a .pcz (http://pcgen.org/autobuilds/pcgen-docs/ ... stall.html)

I went ahead and created an install.lst file, created the .pcz file and installed the data. However, when I went to advanced source selection, Alien Archive was not listed as an option.

I assume I'm doing the data installation incorrectly - perhaps my install.lst file is wrong? Can someone point me to a help page where I can read about how to properly install the alien archive data?

Thank you very much!!!

Actually it's easier than what you are attempting.

Make a folder in the Starfinder\paizo folder called alien_archive, and copy all those files in github into that folder.

@\data\starfinder\paizo

Actually, Brad managed to help me out via online chat. I used Chrome's 'save link as' function to download the source files. Turns out that was the culprit.

Rather, I had to download the source files from the parent folder (https://github.com/PCGen/pcgen-newsources) using the clone or download button there. Once I downloaded and installed the source files via this method, everything worked perfectly!

So please consider this issue closed and thank you!!
